During my recent trip to the MommyConDC conference, I got to spend the better part of the day browsing through aisles and aisles of new baby products. It’s crazy how much stuff is out there these days. Some of it makes life so much easier and some of it makes me laugh.
My twins have almost entirely graduated from the baby stage and entered toddlerhood so some of these items made me wish I had seen them a year ago. I must clarify that this list is just the products that grabbed my attention. It is by no means an authoritative list of THE top three products at the conference. I’m sure there were some great cloth diapers and breastfeeding products there but these things no longer interest me so I didn’t spend much time comparing them.
So here it is, three products that I loved:
Buccio Baby Shop
These baby products are made by a Mama for other Mama’s. She had the cutest teething necklaces, nursing scarves, reusable snack bags, swaddles and wraps. What is so unique about them is the genuine quality and creative designs of the fabrics. She had a swaddle with little mustaches on it! Levi totally would have rocked that out last year! I have never been a big fan of teething necklaces because I could never find any I would actually want to wear. However, Buccio’s designs were really cute!
I bought some reusable snack bags because I think they are a great idea. They are lined inside (with a waterproof fabric and I was amazed at how well they kept the water in). I wouldn’t be afraid to put orange slices or something like that inside of them.
These cute bags can be put in the washing machine or the dishwasher and they eliminate the constant waste of plastic baggies. Plus, they are much easier for little hands to get in to. My kids haven’t figured out how to open zip locks yet. You can check out their products HERE.
This was the product that I wish I could have had from the very beginning with the twins. They slept in rock-n-plays or their crib for a portion of the night and then by about 3 or 4 am they ended up in bed with me. It was the only way I could get any decent sleep. That being said, I always felt a little uneasy with them in bed because I was afraid they would roll over onto a pillow or the covers. It’s hard to convey in a picture but this little pillow is almost like a little baby hammock. As you lay the baby in it, it absorbs some of the baby’s weight and keeps them in a comfortable and safe position.
It’s no wonder to me that Snuggle Me won the 2016 Mom’s Choice Award. It seemed very well made and I loved that the cover is made of Organic cotton that is easy to wash. (The fill is a hypoallergenic polyester but they also offer 100% organic cotton and 100% organic lambs wool if you want it for an additional cost.)
I could see so many uses for this besides co-sleeping. I was never able to tandem nurse my twins so they had to take turns. I would often lay one baby down with pillows for support on the bed while I nursed the other. I would have felt more at ease if they were in something like this keeping them in place. It would have been great to take in the van too on our little day trips. I could have laid one baby in it on the bench seat while I fed the other (parked of course!) Maya & Max 5 in 1 Tote Bag
This was such a cool product. I have always been grossed out about putting my kids in shopping carts and restaurant high chairs, especially during cold season. But that being said, carrying around two seat covers everywhere was just impossible. I already have a huge diaper bag to carry with twice the diapers, sippy cups, etc. These tote bags look like a normal bag with pockets but then they unzip and turn into a cart or chair cover! They can also be used as a nursing cover. I am a huge fan of versatile products and they are worth the money if they save me time and avoid stress. Another thing that I liked about this bag was that it was lightweight and flexible. If I were to have two of them for twins, I would fold one up and keep it inside the other. HERE is a great video to show you how it works and you can buy the tote HERE.
